The University of Memphis is a world-renowned university that serves 100,000 of students and a wide, impressive alumni.
The Problem
The University of Memphis Advancement and Alumni Association Office decided to get a new CMS separate from the main University of Memphis website. To create the new Alumni website, all the pages had to be migrated to the new CMS.

The Process
Migration
We started the construction of the new website by migrating all of the content to the new CMS.
Copy and pasting the HTML wasn’t possible due to the CSS attached to the original code. So pages had to be re-coded from scratch.
2. Redesign
Once the old pages were migrated over, I began to redesign the page layouts.
Often, my team and I would meet with heads of the different departments in the alumni office and hear what content they would like on their department’s main pages. I would then build the wireframes via Figma.
Along the way, my team and I had to determine which pages to keep, merge, or remove. Content that was too short or outdated was scrapped.
Wireframes created using Figma for the "Upcoming Events" and "Corporate and Foundation Relations" pages.
3. Pizzaz!
The final step involved increasing the visual appeal of the pages while preserving the University’s established visual branding. This process included incorporating blue text blocks and buttons, embedding videos, and integrating images from the University of Memphis photo collection.
Results
Our CMS enabled us to utilize Google Analytics to monitor user activity. I created summary data sheets on Canva to compile and track the information.
